This spring, Ezrah’s dad and a group of incredibly dedicated mates are tackling a huge challenge in memory of Ezrah. They are currently training for a big old coastal walk which will see them travel from Plymouth to The Lizard Point over four days at the end of April, meaning they’ll need to walk the equivalent of over a marathon a day. Training started back in January and the boys have already collectively walked countless miles in order to prepare for what I’m sure will be a really gruelling challenge. Money raised will go to one of our chosen charities - The Grand Appeal. We have already raised nearly £13,000 for this charity which exists to fund the incredible care that Bristol Children’s Hospital provide for poorly children. The money raised from this event will specifically go to funding the incredible activities and therapies that The Grand Appeal offer to children who remain in hospital for a long time. This includes music therapy and play activities which are invaluable in offering creativity, connection and enjoyment to these children whilst they’re living their life away from home and undergoing ongoing treatment. Despite navigating difficult anniversaries, Craig and his friends have still been out most days getting the miles in. I know Ezrah will be so proud of his daddy and both Craig and I are overwhelmed by the incredible friendship and dedication shown by his mates. Thank you for any contribution you can make - whether that be donating or sharing our page to keep Ezrah’s legacy alive. His life was short but we’re determined for his impact to be great. Group B Strep is a rare but devastating infection and through events like this one we hope to continue to spread awareness so that parents are empowered to take informed action if they see the signs and symptoms of infection. Walking for Ezrah - progress
28th April 2023The walk is well under way with the boys closing in on day 2 but it has been incredibly tough. Yesterday's weather made for a really grueling start in the mud and rain and the boys were aching much more as a result, which has led to a tough second day today. All the donations and messages of support are keeping their spirits up so please continue to pass on your support - thank you!
Walking for Ezrah: Plymouth to Lizard update
19th April 2023This time next week, team Walking for Ezrah will be on their way to Plymouth ahead of starting the walk on Thursday 27th. I think it's fair to say their commitment and dedication to date has been pretty awe-inspiring. When this idea first came about in the autumn of 2022, it seemed a massive task. And whilst it still is that, the group are absolutely smashing out the miles and feel ready and even excited for the challenge to come next week. Thank you so so much for all the donations to date - they are giving the boys the most incredible encouragement as they prepare for what will be an epic physical and mental challenge next week. Xx
